A Florida judge issued a court order in 2002 banning this anti-Scientology film from distribution, making "The Profit" one of the few recent films to receive a U.S. ban. Pinellas County Circuit Court Judge Robert E. Beach wrote that he was issuing an injunction banning the parody film not wishing to taint the jury pool in
a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the estate of a former church member.
